World Read Aloud Day!

 

Dear Reader,

 
The 1st of February 2019 is World Read Aloud Day (WRAD), which is celebrated annually around the globe. On this day, people read aloud together to highlight the importance of reading, storytelling and literacy. On this year’s WRAD, let's share our books and stories with those around us. We invite all of you, young and old, to open your favourite book, gather your friends at home and at school, family or colleagues, and read aloud to each other.

You will find hundreds of picture storybooks on the African Story Book website in many different African languages. The storybooks can be read online or offline, or downloaded from the website and printed. All the storybooks are available for free. You may also follow African Story Book on Twitter and Facebook. 
 

We would encourage you to continue supporting libraries and take time to reflect on the importance of reading.
